MPPT solar controller EPEVER XTRA - the new generation of solar controllers brings high quality and maximum equipment for island systems with panel voltage up to 100 V and maximum charging current of 10 A.

This solar controller is suitable for a large range of island applications such as cottages, houses etc.

It is also suitable for use in vehicles due to the possibility of grounding to minus pole.

A multi-function display is integrated directly into the MPPT controller for easy monitoring of the system and possible adjustment of operating parameters, including control LEDs.

The controller works as an inverter, meaning that it can process higher input voltage and lower current to lower voltage/increase current with high efficiency.

So we can use virtually any solar panel.

The controller is compatible with lead acid and lithium ion batteries.

The solar controller is equipped with the latest MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) technology - maximum power point tracking with a sophisticated tracking algorithm where the solar module operates at the ideal voltage that the solar module can produce at the highest available power. When compared to a conventional PWM controller, MPPT technology increases charging efficiency by about 30%.

The maximum charging power to the battery of this model is 10A which corresponds to a panel power of 130 Wp if you have a 12V battery, or 260 Wp if you have a 24V battery.

In case the panel will give higher power, then the controller will only limit it to its nominal max power.

The power of PV panels must not be higher than 1.5 times the nominal power of the controller!

Solar panels can be connected in series, but their output voltage at empty, referred to as Voc, must never exceed the value of the empty voltage Voc 100V - exceeding this value will permanently damage the controller (here it must be taken into account that the voltage of the solar panel increases with decreasing ambient temperature and the value of Voc indicated in the parameters of the solar panel is at 25C.

Therefore, we do not recommend that the value of the stated Voc exceeds 90V

Setting the controller parameters (mainly the type of battery used) is done using the built-in LCD of the XDS2 version, or the external MT50 display - not included in the controller

Parameter setting and monitoring can also be done on your PC - you will only need an EPsolar USB communication cable and the software, which you can download for free at the bottom of this product tab.

You can also monitor and adjust using your mobile phone/tablet. For this you will need the bluetooth module BLE-01.

Quick installation:

Connect the battery to the solar controller. Install a suitably sized DC link on the plus wireas close to the battery pole as possible (position 3)

Connect the load (position 4)

Connect the solar panel (position 2)

(position 1) - possibility of connecting an external temperature sensor

(position 5) - possibility to connect external MT-50 display, USB communication cable for communication with PC, or Bluetooth module BLE-01 for communication with mobile phone/tablet
