The DuoRacer DR1206N-DDS MPPT charge controller is designed to charge two batteries - on-board and starter (shown below as BATT1 and BATT2) in a solar system.
This controller supports several types of main batteries (BATT1), including sealed, gel, flooded, LiFePO4 and Li-NiCoMn batteries, which are suitable for RVs, motorhomes, boats, etc.
The device automatically detects the starter battery system voltage (BATT2) and recharges the battery when conditions are met.
The controller works as an inverter, that is, it can process higher input voltage and lower current to lower voltage/increase current with high efficiency.
So we can use almost any solar panel.
The DuoRacer solar controller is equipped with the latest MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) technology - maximum power point tracking with a sophisticated tracking algorithm where the solar module operates at the ideal voltage that the solar module can produce at the highest available power.
When compared to a conventional PWM controller, MPPT technology increases charging efficiency by about 30%.
The maximum charging power to the battery of this model is 10A which corresponds to a panel power of 130 Wp if you have a 12V battery, or 260 Wp if you have a 24V battery.
In case the panel will give higher power, then the controller will only limit it to its nominal max power. The power of PV panels must not be higher than 1.5 times the nominal power of the controller - i.e. 190Wp or 390Wp!
Solar panels can be connected in series, but their output voltage at empty, referred to as Voc , must never exceed the value of the empty voltage Voc 60V - exceeding this value will permanently damage the controller (here it must be taken into account that the voltage of the solar panel increases with decreasing ambient temperature and the value of Voc indicated in the parameters of the solar panel is at 25C). Therefore, we do not recommend that the value of the stated Voc exceeds 45V.

BATT1 type can be set by LED/LCD.
If there is no charging for a long period of time and the PV array has low voltage (PV<5V), the controller will go into low power mode.
100% charging and discharging within the operating temperature range.

The remote display MT11 (optional accessory, not included) of the van can display various operating data and system fault information. Information can be displayed on the backlit LCD screen, the buttons are easy to operate and the numeric display is easy to read.
