Energy Bull
These are liquid electrolyte batteries designed for use in solar systems. They offer an excellent price/performance ratio and have been used successfully for over 10 years in low-maintenance island applications such as a seasonal cottage.
They differ from conventional car batteries not only in price but mainly in their design. Compared to a conventional car battery, it provides many times longer lifetime in cyclic operation for photovoltaic systems.
This battery is lead acid, just like a gel or AGM battery, only the electrolyte is liquid. Maintenance is therefore required in the form of checking the electrolyte level about once a month and topping up with distilled water if necessary.
The battery produces fumes during operation and should be placed in a well-ventilated area (not recommended for caravans, for example)

Charger setup
If you are charging the battery with a solar controller, then set it to "liquid/flooded/rechargeable" battery type
Recommended values for charging voltages and current during cycling:
- Recommended absorption voltage: 14.6V
- recommended float voltage: 13.8V
For a 60Ah capacity the following applies:
- recommended charging current: 6A
- maximum charging current: 12A
- maximum discharge current: 12A
Operation
After discharging the lead-acid battery (valid for all types), the battery must be charged again - ideally at least once a week to 100%. If the battery is operated for a long time without being charged, due to chemical processes in the battery, a layer of sulphate starts to form on the lead plates, which makes charging impossible. After a short period of time, this process can be reversed by performing a desulfation charge. After a longer period of time, this can be an irreversible change that can permanently damage the battery.
Before long-term storage, the battery must be fully charged, and during storage the battery voltage must be checked regularly and recharged if necessary.
