The Cyrix-i intelligent battery interconnector controls the charging and disconnecting of the starter and service battery. If one of the batteries reaches 26.0 V (52 V) for 10 minutes or 27.6 V (55.2 V) for 4 seconds, Cyrix-i connects the batteries and charges both batteries simultaneously to a fully charged state. When the voltage on one of the batteries drops below 25.6 V (51.2 V) for 10 minutes or 24.0 V (48.0 V) for 20 seconds, the batteries are disconnected from each other. This connecting and disconnecting of the batteries works both ways. The device offers a choice of four modes of operation differing in connection and disconnection voltage values. The above voltage values are in factory setting mode (mode 0). See the documents below for more information on each mode.
It is possible to remotely monitor the device and temporarily (approx. 30 seconds) connect the batteries regardless of their voltage, for example for starting purposes (transferring energy from the operating battery to the starting battery).
Batteries can be of different capacities, types and designs. Each battery is assumed to power its own appliances.
