Bluetooth SmartKe monitoring and setup can be used on any Bluetooth-enabled smartphone, tablet or other device. You can also update the charger as new software features become available. Phoenix Smart (1 + 1): two outputs for charging 2 batteriesThe second output is limited to approx. 3A and with a slightly lower output voltage for charging e.g. starter batteries. Phoenix Smart (3): three full current outputs for charging 3 batteriesAll outputs can supply the full rated output current. When charging multiple batteries simultaneously, the full rated current is automatically divided between the active outputs. Automatic Voltage CompensationThe charger compensates for voltage drop on DC cables by slightly increasing the output voltage when DC current increases. Please refer to the manual for details. Adaptive five-stage charging algorithm: bulk - absorption - reconditioning - float - storageThe Phoenix Smart Charger features our well-known "adaptive" battery management system, which can be preset for different battery types. The "adaptive" function automatically optimizes the charging process according to the way the battery is used. Prevents damage caused by excessive gassing: BatterySafe mode If a high charging current is selected for fast charging of the battery in combination with a high absorption voltage, the charger prevents damage caused by excessive gassing by automatically limiting the voltage increase once the gassing voltage is reached Less maintenance and aging when the battery is not in use: Storage modeStorage mode is activated whenever the battery has not been subjected to discharge within 24 hours. In storage mode, the float voltage is reduced to 2.2 V/cell (13.2 V for a 12 V battery) to minimize gassing and corrosion of the positive plates. Once a week, the voltage is raised back to the absorption level to balance the battery. This feature prevents electrolyte stratification and sulfation, a major cause of premature battery failure. Also charges Li-ion (LiFePO₄) batteriesWhen charging a Li-ion battery, the charger uses a specific charging algorithm for Li-ion batteries to ensure maximum performance. Use the MODE button to select LI-ION.Fully Programmable Charging AlgorithmThe charging algorithm can be programmed using Bluetooth or VE.Direct.Three pre-programmed algorithms can be selected using the mode button (see specifications). Remote on/offThe remote on/off consists of two terminals, Remote H and Remote L. A remote switch or relay contact can be connected between H and L.
